Miss Brill

"They did not speak. This was disappointing, Miss Brill always looked forward to the conversation". The words speak, disappointing, and conversation leaped out to me as important. This passage is important to the story because she's by her self on a Sunday (Sundays usually seem to be family days) so she's probably lonely. When she goes out and listens to the band, she wants to talk to people, but they didn't seem to want to talk to her. This interested me because if there were only three people sitting watching the band, you'd think they'd be kind and talk to her.
