Blog Entry 20: Quote Response

No hinge nor loop
To hang a doubt on.
Othello. ACT III Scene 3.
I chose this quote because I thought it was interesting how they talked a hinge and loop. I thought of loop to be a noose. The movie has to do with racism, so I thought it was kind of an interesting find, connecting those two things.

  1. Hi, Erica. Who says these lines? What is the noose image being used to talk about in this scene? I think the connection to race is a good one. There may also be a connection to tragedy. In this instance, loop indicates escape, like a loophole. There is no escape in the play but death. Nancy
